Peaked Lapels

Written by admin, Thursday, January 27th, 2011 in Q&As

Resolve a debate for me: are peaked lapels okay for suits in work environments?

Yes.

While I have heard some people argue that peaked lapels are best suited for “formal” suiting (I suppose in the more-formal-than-business-but-not-a-tux sense), I find that peaked lapels are pretty much universally acceptable. Peaked lapels were historically more formal than notch lapels, but nowadays the distinction is pretty much meaningless and thus more of a fashion consideration than anything else.

Wear peaked lapels as much as you like.
